Paul Currie, general funny man and the man behind two piece rock band Rhinos is bringing his highly acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe show Release the Baboons to ‘The Strand’ at The Exchange and Assembly Rooms on the 21st September as a part of the Culture Night celebrations (tickets are £6).

In case you aren’t familiar with the work of Northern Ireland’s Mr Currie, we first saw him at Culture Night a few years ago spitting milk all over an unsuspecting audience. He’s also a Jim Henson Company trained Puppeteer so you know you’re in good hands. His comedy is surreal and the only information we really know about his Fringe show is that there’s some sort of bread fight at the end and that Scottish comedian Limmy can’t get enough of him. How could you refuse?!

If you can’t make the show on the 21st September, you’re in luck! Release the Baboons is also on in The MAC on the 4th October (tickets are £12).

This is a comedy show unlike any other.

Self-Styled Clownarchist Paul Currie brings a mash up of old school Victorian music hall, punk rock energy and aggression to the formulaic art of stand-up and throws in some well-crafted clowning to what is a break neck roller coaster ride into, around and through the mind of this very unique human.

Trained in Clown and physical theatre and performing for over 20 years in the worlds of Punk Rock, Visual Art, Street Theatre, Circus, Puppetry (both on TV and Stage) Currie throws it all into the pot and force feeds a sharp slap of reality to every audience.

This is a show that will leave the spectator with a visual celebration that they will NEVER FORGET!
