KEVIN MCALEER – AS GAEILGE (IN IRISH)
COMEDY – 9 May at The Dark Horse
The Dark Horse
Friday 9 May, 8.00pm
Tickets £7
Since getting his big break on RTE’s Nighthawks, Kevin McAleer has been telling hilariously deadpan rustic yarns for over a quarter of a century. His sublime wit, slow County Tyrone drawl and forays into paranoiac delusion have left audiences the length and breadth of Ireland with sore diaphragms and possibly a renewed appreciation of the terrible truth – that just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you. Kevin presented a TV series about Ulster Scots for RTÉ, Our Friends in the North, earlier this year, and was inspired by the experience to go back to learn Irish. He has been attending Irish classes in Omagh, and will perform a stand up set entirely in Irish at the The Dark Horse in this very special festival show.
