This week we have news and trailers. A lot of trailers. We’ve stuff on John Wick 2, Wolverine, Allied, Rogue One, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Black Mirror, Iron Fist, Power Rangers, Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events and Underworld Blood Wars. Not much room for chat so lets get started.

John Wick 2

John Wick was great so it’s pretty great that we’re getting a sequel (it looks like there are plans for a third as well, great!). John Wick 2 will be out next February, until then, here’s a great trailer and the synopsis.

In this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hitman John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild.  Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.

Black Panther

Forest Whitaker will be joining Bojack Horseman in the cast for the Black Panther movie. Forest will be playing Zuri, an elder statesman serving Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther in Wakanda. Here’s a picture of Forest going for gold. Smell my finger. It smells like gold.

The Young Pope

The Young Pope looks pretty dope form the new teaser below (Yo?). The show will debut on Sky Atlantic in the UK on October 27th, and then will hit HBO in February 2017 in the U.S.

Black Mirror

There is no more room for great TV and yet we keep getting it. The originality in film is dead. Long live TV. Black Mirror returns at the end of this month and it looks awesome.

Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events

Look what’s coming to Netflix. I loved the books and I don’t read a lot of books. Is that a compliment? I don’t know. All I know is that it’s coming to Netflix on my birthday. How fortunate.

Sleepless

This is a trailer for the American remake of a hit French film called Sleepless Night. I guess English speaking audiences can’t handle 2 word titles. It’s got Jamie Foxx in it. I guess we can handle 2 Xs.

Wolverine 3

The new Wolverine movie is coming and it’s Hugh Jackman’s last. The title has been revealed as ‘Logan’ Here’s a poster and a pic of old man Xavier.

Gears of War

News just in, Universal is finally developing a Gears of War movie. News just out.

Doctor Strange

A new TV spot has emerged. I must have missed the first 10 ut oh well.

Rogue One

A new Russian poster for Rogue one has appeared. Probably from the Kremlin. Don’t look at it, it’s probably propaganda. Also they’ve spelled Rogue One wrong.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

Here’s the synopsis for Luc Besson’s (Lucy, The Fifth Element, Leon) latest sci-fi epic. We’ve got a few images too.

Rooted in the classic graphic novel series, Valerian and Laureline- visionary writer/director Luc Besson advances this iconic source material into a contemporary, unique and epic science fiction saga.

Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.

Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

Aladdin

I think we can safely call this one just a little leftfield. Not the fact that there’s a live action film of Disney’s Aladdin but the fact that Guy Ritchie’s directing. The plan is to have an origin story by the name of Genies that would then lead into the full Aladdin story.

Allied

Apparently this is the film that caused all that trouble with Angie. Marion Cotillard stars along side Brad Pitt in this war time thingy majig.

In 1942 North Africa, intelligence officer Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressure of the war.

The Great Wall

This looks mad and so it should do. Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers, 2008 Olympic opening ceremony) directs Matt Damon in this mad looking thing with mad stuff and a really big wall. there’s a Trump joke in there somewhere but I can’t be bothered.

Underworld Blood Wars

Here it is the trailer for Underworld 16 or whatever. Point is, Kate Beckinsale is back in that ridiculous catsuit. Also Vampires and Werewolves.

Iron Fist

More trailers? They must have heard that the Octogeek is on holiday next week and crammed all the good stuff into this week. Now that Luke Cage has hit our screens we can look forward to the wait for Iron Fist.

Power Rangers

This is the last one, I promise. The Power Rangers are back and this time there is some stuff happening and also they have suits and there are 5 of them and and and they don’t like each other and they represent a wide spectrum of ethnic backgrounds. Ok so a lot of that was true of the original but this time it’s edgier.
