What do we have this week? What’s Netflix got up it’s sleeves for us now that Preacher has debuted on Amazon Video? There’s only one way to find out. Read on and see what’s what in this week’s #NewOnNetflix.

Turns out Netflix doesn’t have a lot. No honorable mentions this week as the pickings on Netflix don’t deserve them. There’s a film about Krampus that’s got a 1.8 score on IMDB and some Ouija themed films that were filmed on a micro budget, neither of which I’d advise watching. We do have a pick of the week though that looks like something a bit different.

Pick of the Week – The Last Man on the Moon – This week’s pick is a documentary about NASA’ Apollo missions. It’s got some great reviews. The Times calls it ‘compelling, artful and fantastically straight-faced‘ and it’s got a 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I know that should be taken with a pinch of salt but it’s gotta be good if it’s in the 90’s. It’s nice to see some of that archive footage too.

When Apollo astronaut Eugene Cernan stepped off the moon in 1972 he left his footprints and his daughter’s initials in the lunar dust. Only now, forty years later, is he ready to share his epic but deeply personal story. Cernan’s burning ambition carried him to the spectacular and hazardous environment of space and to the moon. But there was a heavy price to pay for the fame and privilege that followed. As his wife famously remarked, ‘If you think going to the moon is hard, try staying at home.’ This documentary combines rare archive material, compelling visual effects and unprecedented access to present an iconic historical character on the big screen.
