First coming to our attention when they reached the finals of the 2016 Chordblossom Kickstart competition, alt-pop four-piece Dandelion Tea are gearing up to launch their A Picnic in Limbo EP later this year.

For now, however, we have the first single The Crystal Dawn. A glorious mixture of xylophone, synth and thoughtful lyrics, this track could easily be a sterling ambient track on its own.

Unlike anything I’ve heard before, alt-pop doesn’t even fully describe the sound that this band produce. Almost restorative in its tone, this is an interesting tune that reminds me of early dew-soaked mornings and makes me feel a bit like I’m floating outside of my body (in a good way). If this is just the opener, then Dandelion Tea are definitely another NI band to look out for!
