Meb Jon Sol sounds a bit like the bastard son of Seasick Steve and Mumford and Sons with a little bit of Urban Voodoo Machine thrown in for good measure. Now say this bastard son was recorded in the middle of a sea shanty sing-a-long competition that he eventually won and you’ve got an (immensely convoluted) idea of what “Captain of This Ship” sounds like.  Just go have a listen actually, it’s wonderfully catchy and it’ll go round  in your head for days, but in the best possible way – just watch you don’t catch scurvy.! We’re going to check this guy out this week at the Radar gig in the Speakeasy on Thursday too, so full report of the live experience coming soon!
