Yep, you read that right. There’s a DIY music festival up in Ballymoney and Tweed Fest is its name. Run by a family called the Tweeds, this is a true labor of love; with a small team of helpers, a local sound team and a little bit of landscaping, the farm is turned into a rock and roll arena for one night only each year where bands perform for free and you can camp and BYOB for no extra cost at all.

Now in its 5th year, this ramshackle fest will be held on 5th September at 28 Loughabin Road and for the negligent sum of £8 you can hang out in a barn and listen to Axis Of, Gascan Ruckus, Two Glass Eyes, Hot Cops, Felix Champion, Little Neddy Goes To War, Different Ghosts, Bayonettes, Life Goals and Little Arcadia. What more could you ask for?

Find out more about the amazing sounding Tweed Fest here and support local! Plus, at 8 quid, it would be rude not to, wouldn’t it?
