The new single ‘Boom’ from The Wood Burning Savages starts like Concorde taking off and never really lets up from there. It’s a quick punchy number with a sing-a-long anthemic shouty chorus. It’s also bloody hard to sit down whilst listening to, you just want to jig about like Jarvis Cocker at a Michael Jackson gig. There’s a frantic energy that permeates from start to finish, the riffs are head noddingly pleasing and the drums thunder along at a pace that fits nicely with my concorde compariosn earlier. A big thumbs up for this one lads.

An EP of the same name is being released on Sept 29th. On Fri 10th Oct they are playing the inaugural gig at The Bar With No Name to launch the EP along with Freaks, Hot Cops and His New Atlas
