10 Awesome Things to do in Northern Ireland This Week: 24 – 30th July 2017

1. Cairncastle Bluegrass & Folk Musical Evening, Ballygally Halfway House Hotel, Larne, 25-30 July. There is no better way to round off a day visiting the nine Glens of Antrim, than to take in this festival, at the Halfway House Hotel. Workshops begin at 2pm and performances at 7.30pm.
   
2. ‘A Night Under The Stars’, Palace Demesne, Armagh, 28 July.  Be welcomed to the 200-year-old Palace Greenhouse with a homemade cocktail, followed by a delicious three-course-meal and wine. Share this experience under the stars with a guest speaker from the Armagh Observatory. To book call 028 3752 9678.
   
3.  Sunflowerfest, Hillsborough, Co.Down, 28 – 30 July. The 2017 festival is themed sci-fi and space, string theory and the multiverse. The organisers are designing and building the best festival to date at Tubby’s Farm, where fancy dress is actively encouraged.
   
4. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë – Chapterhouse Theatre Company, Enniskillen Castle, 27 July. Adapted from Charlotte Brontë’s classic novel, Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents one of the greatest romances of English literature. This beautiful story of undying love is brought alive under a summer sky at Enniskillen Castle. Play starts at 6.30pm.
   
5. Magilligan Bioblitz, Benone Tourist Complex, Limavady, 29-30 July.  Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust are teaming up with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council to hold a 24-hour long BioBlitz to record the coastal wildlife from Downhill to Magilligan. Over the 24-hour period scientists, naturalists and members of the public race against the clock to find as many species as possible.
   
6. Strabane Market, Strabane, 28 July. The Alley Theatre welcomes the very best of artisan traders, offering visitors a friendly shopping experience with a wide selection of specialty foods and handmade crafted products.
   
7. A Level Playing Field: Women in Sport, PRONI, Belfast, 27 July. 2017 is an iconic year for women’s sport in Northern Ireland. PRONI will present Women in Sport Archives alongside talks from the IFA, IRFU and GAA along with a preview of the new drama, Rough Girls.
   
8. Belly dance workshop, Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast, 30 July. Designed to give you an introduction and also a taste of what Belly Dance is. You are welcome if you are a complete beginner or if you have done some belly dancing before. Workshop begins at 12.30pm.
   
9. West Side Story, Derry~Londonderry, Millennium Forum, 27 – 29 July. The Millennium Forum Youth Musical Group brings the dynamic musical to stage. Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story is set in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. This milestone musical explores the rivalry between two teenage gangs, The Jets and The Sharks.
   
10. Frampton vs Gutierrez, SSE Arena, Belfast, 29 July. Carl Frampton will make his ring return against Andres Gutierrez at Belfast’s SSE Arena in a WBC world featherweight title eliminator. Frampton has not fought since his loss to Leo Santa Cruz in their WBA title fight in Las Vegas in January.
