There’s lots of great events happening to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. The NI Tourist Board have put together some highlights to help you plan your celebrations!

St Patrick’s Day Carnival and Concert
17 March 12noon – 3pm
Belfast City Centre
The colourful St Patrick’s Day Carnival leaves from City Hall at 12 noon. It will feature an array of fantastic floats, professional and amateur performers, musicians and dancers as it makes its way through the city centre to Custom House Square where there’ll be an outdoor concert hosted by Citybeat Breakfast presenters Stephen Clements and Sara Neill. From 1pm to 3pm you’ll have the  chance to see top acts such as Simon Webbe and Louis Walsh’s newest 6 piece boyband HomeTown!

St Patrick’s Weekend at St George’s Market
13 – 15 March
St George’s Market
Enjoy a visit to St George’s Market over the St Patrick’s weekend from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 March as it’s bathed in green all weekend to mark the world-famous celebrations. There’ll also be live traditional music, Irish stew, Irish dancers and a selection of traders will be selling bunches of shamrock.

Féile an Earraigh
10 – 17 March

Féile an Earraigh, Belfast’s Spring Festival returns from 10-17 March and features the very best music, spoken word, debates, discussions as well as a series of stunning musical headlining nights at Writer’s Square.

SPAR Craic 10K St Patrick’s Day Run
17 March 9am
Various locations
The SPAR Craic 10K will see hundreds of runners take to the streets of Belfast on the morning of 17 March. The race will leave City Hall at 9am, linking West and East Belfast as the route passes through the Gaeltacht and Cathedral Quarters before finishing at Titanic Slipways. To participate,  advance registration is required.

MAC Parish Hall Céili
15 March 8pm

Live music céili caller to help everyone with the moves and of course the return of the ‘lovely boys’ competition. Come along, drink tea and eat some sandwiches. If tea isn’t your thing, the fully licensed bar will be open and well stocked.

Punjana St Patrick’s Tea Dances
17 March 12 noon – 2pm and 3pm – 5pm
Ulster Hall
Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy an afternoon of old time dancing and refreshments with the John Trotter band. Limited tickets. Advanced booking required.

St Patrick’s Eve with McPeake

Lyric Theatre
The four generations of the McPeake Family are one of those rare Irish gems that have been whispered as ‘folk-royalty. Enjoy an evening of classic Irish folk songs.
