Belfast’s Bank Square is set to come alive as the weekly Folktown Market opens this month. Running every Thursday from 12 noon to 8pm from the 16th April, the Folktown Market will be the first new independent weekly outdoor market in 400 years.

Situated at Bank Square, the farmers’, food and artisan market is in an ideal location as it is central to the main shopping areas, car parks and Castlecourt shopping centre.

The Folktown Market

  • The Folktown Market is a farmers and variety market running every Thursday from 12noon to 8pm. Starting  16th April with 30-40 stalls selling locally grown fruit and vegetables and locally made foods, and also flowers, olives, cheese, coffee, hot food and local crafts. We endeavour to work to high standards. We will give priority to first of all local and homemade and/or organic produce and products. Coffee and fruit vendors selling fairtrade produce will also be given priority. We are very much supportive of the Earth Market concept and Slow Food movement and wish to implement as many of their high standards as possible.
