We’re back after the holidays with a whole bunch of trailers and news for ya. We’ve got some snazzy Baywatch and Alien trailers and news on Thor 3 and some other upcoming stuff too.

Alien: Covenant

Thor: Ragnarok

george-evangelista-hulk-grabbing-korgDisney has confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will be back on the big screen this year, as part of the ensemble for Thor: Ragnarok. We also have a synopsis that confirms that elements of Planet Hulk will be woven into Thor’s 3rd film.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Any official images don’t show much so I though i’d go with this bad ass looking fan art by George Evangelista. Great choice Paul. Thanks Paul. You’re welcome Paul.

CHiPs

This looks like it could be good. I might have gone to see it if Warner Brothers hadn’t put every story beat in the trailer. Makes me think all the jokes are in there too. There’s also a trailer for the trailer immediately before it which is nice.

Cars 3

If you like your Pixar movies dark and gritty then look no further. Not a joke in sight.

Baywatch

This looks great. Is it just because The Rock is in it? Maybe, but also lots of swim-suited lovelys. I mean the bod on Effron, amirite? Unlike the Cars 3 trailer, there’s some jokes in here. Kids like grit and adults like comedy. A formula as old as time I guess.

In other news…

Peter Dinklage has been added to the cast of Avengers Infinity War (possibly as Pip the troll) and it’s looking very likely that Spidey will make an appearance too. I must have missed this but Tim Burton is making the live action Dumbo for Disney. What’s new though is that Will Smith and Tom Hanks have been tipped for roles. Elsewhere, the Coen brothers have announced a western TV series.
