This week we’ve got news on that Archie Comics adaptation you’ve all been waiting so patiently for! Also some other lesser stuff about Alien and Trainspotting and Star Wars and Tom Hardy’s new thing or whatever.

Goon 2

Anyone remember The Goon? Well if you don’t then you should check it out. It’s a great wee film about Sean William Scott playing a Hockey player with a ‘knockout punch’. It was one of 2011’s nice little surprises and now it’s getting a sequel.

Emerald City

This came out of nowhere (for me anyway) and actually looks like it might be worth a watch. The Kingpin Vincent D’Onofrio is playing the wizard, Adria Arjona is playing Dorothy and Tarsem Singh (The Cell, Mirror Mirror) will be director/ executive producer. Check teh trailer out. It looks a bit mental.

Star Wars: Rogue One

More! More! More! Did you know there’s a new Star Wars film coming out? Here’s a little featurette that I haven’t watched about Rogue One. As I’ve said before, I’ve seen enough, I’m going to see the film. If you need more Star Wars stuff before 15th December then check out this ‘Living in Star Wars’ featurette. I won’t judge you.

T2 Trainspotting

Unlike T2: Judgement Day, this one shouldn’t end with a robotic fight to the death. There’s no mention of anything like that in the trailer. there’s no robots in it at all actually. I’m starting to wonder if letting danny Boyle remake T2: Judgement Day was really a good idea after all. Maybe there’s some robots in the international trailer…

Alien: Covenant

This one’s had a few scedule changes originally being set for October 2017 and then moved to August. It’s now coming even earlier, on May 19th next year. We’ve got the first poster to look at now too. In space no one can see you run.

The Keith And Paddy Picture Show

Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness will be bringing us a new collection of movie spoofs for ITV. The show which goes out sometime next year will feature 5 episodes of Keith, Paddy and for my money, the rotating cast of Celebrity Juice, recreating a beloved classic for each episode. In the announcement Mr Lemon had this to say:

“I’m so super excited to be working with one of my best pals Paddy McGuinness. Paddy and I spoke about doing this years ago, and the dream is finally becoming a reality. I’ve stopped eating bread, to make it easier for Paddy to do ‘the lift’ when we recreate Dirty Dancing. I’m also excited to be eaten by a shark and be punched in’t face by the Italian Stallion that is actually from Bolton. Word!”

Riverdale

Remember Archie comics as a kid? Neither do I. It’s a show now and I after watching this trailer I still know nothing about it. After a glance at Wikipedia I can say with no deal of certainty that Archy is a Teenager who lives in Riverdale and has a sort of love triangle thing going on with a girl named Veronica and a girl named Betty. He has a friend named Jughead and is in a band named ‘The Archies’. He likes cars and sports and lives in a world where Josie and the Pussycats is not just a movie that did not meet expectations.

After reading all this on Wikipedia I still can’t really see what’s going on in this trailer apart from the fact that the actor playing Archie didn’t have the correct colour of hair when he took the part.

Taboo

There’s some new promos out for FX’s 8 part mini series ‘Taboo’. FX doesn’t seem to want us in the UK to see  them though as when you try and watch them it says ‘the uploaded has not made this video available in your country. This is handy for marketing purposes. Standard stuff.

“Can I have some information on your product? I may like to purchase it and possibly let other people know about it via word of mouth”.

“No. Unless you live in America, we don’t want you knowing anything about it. Go watch Gilmore Girls.”

Luckily I found a trailer for it from September that the BBC allows us to watch.

As an added bonus, I found this picture of Tom Hardy’s character trapped inside Tony Stark’s chest.
