Van the man is set to make an appearance at the International Guinness® Blues on the Bay Festival 2015 this week. During two intimate performances at Warrenpoint Town Hall on Sunday 24th May, Van Morrison will celebrate his eighth appearance at the festival, with all proceeds from the concert going to Southern Area Hospice Services.
The festival which runs from 20 – 25 May in Warrenpoint, County Down will showcase some of the world’s leading blues and jazz performers including Mud Morganfield, Mama’s Boys, Pat McManus, Rab McCullough, Crowbar Blues Band, Cup O’Joe and The Bluez Katz Blues Band. The main feature of the festival is the famous Guinness Bay Blues Pub Trail, featuring over 90 free gigs and 35 performers.
“Our festival has become the one of the main blues and jazz festivals in Europe due to the exceptional high calibre of performers. Van Morrison’s return to our festival is icing on the cake. There are back-to-back gigs all over the Spring Bank Holiday, plus family fun events and a food festival too. If you love the ‘craic’ and enjoy the buzz of festivals, our blues festival ticks all the boxes – don’t miss it.” – Event Director, Ian Sands
The festival has loads of great artists, workshops and events for people of all ages, including family entertainment known as ‘Bluesberry’ held in Warrenpoint Town Park, where you can find continental food stalls and music. For more information and to book tickets click here.
