Thanks for dropping by, this week we have Star Wars, Captain America, Hateful Eight and Dads Army among other things. Lets start with the the Star Wars news shall we?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The Good Ship Entertainment Weekly always seems to have some sort of fresh catch of pictures of the latest big movies, wriggling in its nets. I will drop the fishing analogy here as it’s off putting when talking about Star Wars. Check out the new images below including Brienne of Tarth herself as the ‘Captain Phasma’.

 Star Wars: Rogue One

There’s a lot of noise about the new The Force Awakens but info on the other Star Wars films has been scant. Star Wars.com has now finally released some info on Rogue One. Including it’s cast. But first here’s a bit about on what the films all about.

“Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe,” says Kathleen Kennedy. “It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth is such an innovative director and I’m so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary ensemble cast he’s selected for ‘Rogue One.’”

So who’s in that ensemble cast then I hear you ask?

Felicity Jones  (The Theory of Everything)Diego Luna  (Elysium), Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline), Donnie Yen (Ip Man and Blade II), Jiang Wen (Let the Bullets Fly and Devils on the Doorstep), Forest Whitaker (The Butler and The Last King of Scotland), Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale), Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler and Four Lions) and Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character. Tudyk stars in the soon-to-be-released Con Man series and Trumbo. Lucas Film have also released a picture of some of this rag tag crew with nothing to lose.

Captain America: Civil War

We’ve got some of those classic Marvel set shots for you off the new Capin’ ‘Murica film. Marvel likes to do the odd out door shoot (this time in Germany) giving us a chance to get a few snaps at Marvel in production. This time we get a wee look at what the Black Panther costume looks like on Chadwick Boseman’s stunt double as well as what looks like the Winter Soldier with his metal hand. Check out the pics below.

Fantastic Four

thing-fantastic-four-rebootI don’t usually cover stuff like this as it’s more sort of gossip and general movie negativity but it can’t really be ignored when it comes to Fantastic Four. Hopefully people will have seen the film and made up their own mind as to whether its a hit or a bomb but the general consensus seems to be that it’s not the greatest. It’s under preformed for Fox and the director Josh Trank (Chronicle) recently deleted a tweet off his Twitter account that pointed to trouble behind the scenes. “A year ago I had a fantastic version of this, and it would’ve received great reviews. You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though.” It probably didn’t help all the negative buzz surrounding the film to come out on twitter and blast the film like that. Also it seems weird to specifically say that critics would have loved your move. props to him for getting the word ‘Fantastic’ in there.

Dad’s Army

That’s right you heard me. Dad’s Army: The Movie is coming to a cinema near you. Toby Jones, Michael Gambon, Bill Nighy and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The cast is solid but I’m not really sure if we needed this or not. Here it is anyway The trailer for Dad’s Army. The joke with Gambon wearing the lai and grass skirt made me laugh but that’s about it.

The Lego Batman Movie

Following the success of Bats in The Lego Move he has his own move slated for February 2017 (quite the wait). We knew Will Arnett was returning but we now have some more names attached. It seems bird faced actor and all round Rihanna bother-er Michael Cera will be Arnett’s Lego Robin and Zach Galifianakis will voice Lego Joker. Nice casting boys.
