This week we’re starting to look at the many man-made structures dotted around NI that make up the landscape. Many have been here a lifetime or longer, some brand new and yet as part of this country as any hill or mountain.

Silent Valley reservoir,supplies most of the water for County Down, surrounding counties and most of Belfast.The reservoir was built between 1923 and 1933 by a workforce of over one thousand men, nine of whom died.
The Peace Bridge in Derry, It opened on 25 June 2011. The bridge is intended to improve relations between the largely unionist ‘Waterside’ with the largely nationalist ‘Cityside’, by improving access between these areas, as part of wider regeneration plans.
