Love it or hate it, Valentines Day 2014 is fast approaching. So, for those of you who haven’t already planned a romantic day with your significant other, here’s a few last minute ideas that are sure to be a winner this Friday.
Love is in the Air at Victoria Square
For a relaxed, more casual valentines date (that’s also free!), Victoria Square is putting on a range of activities and events to put you in the mood for romance. Running from 14th – 22nd February, Love is in the Air at Victoria Square promises fun for all the family, with a love photo booth on the lower ground floor, face painting and craft making for the kids and an all new love zone in between Cruise and Hugo Boss where you can meet a date, share a love seat and relax. There will also be love heart sweets served with the bill at a range of VS restaurants and an 8ft wishing tree where you can write a wish and tie it to the tree to see if it comes true.
Valentines Dinner on the SS Nomadic
If you’re looking to really push the boat out this valentines day, why not enjoy a romantic valentines meal onboard the historic SS Nomadic. Enjoy a sparkling wine reception, followed by a gourmet 3 course meal prepared by Posh Nosh for £30. Tickets available here.
A Prohibition Valentine at the King’s Head
For a twist on the classic romantic valentines meal, why not try the King’s Head who have a four course valentine’s menu with a champagne cocktail for £19.95. Check out the menu here. Then, from 8.30pm – 1am enjoy the 1920’s speakeasy atmosphere with live jazz from the Martello Jazz Band.
Get Married at Sh*t Disco
For those of you who are shunning Valentines day altogether, or if you’re just looking for something with a few more shots, then why not get married at Sh*t Disco in Limelight 2 this Friday? DJ Joe Lindsay, priest of the Church of Dude, Church of Elvis and Church of Satan will be ‘marrying’ four couples live onstage in a specially built balloon church, so it’s not to be missed! Wedding gown, tux, confetti and best man/ bridesmaid outfits will be supplied.
If none of these ideas take your fancy then you can always call into the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre (9 Donegall Square North) and ask for a few tips.
