After interviewing the bad guys – TRON and JDP – it’s only fair that we asked PWU fan favourite Karl McKaigue a few questions. Until very recently Karl was the All Ulster Champion and this sunday he will get his rematch to regain that belt at the PWU Supershow.
1. How are you feeling about your upcoming match at the PWU super show at the end of this month to regain your All Ulster Championship?
Confident, excited and nervous all at the same time. Anyone who knows me knows how hard I work day in and day out, both inside and outside the ring, the fact that I hold the record for the youngest ever All Ulster Champion in PWU history I think proves that. And I’m making a promise to all the PWU fans that this Sunday in the Europa Hotel I will once again be your champion
2. You always have a big crowd reaction and a strong fan base. Do you find that an advantage when you’re in the ring?
Definitely, there is no better motivation than the crowd chanting your name. No matter how badly I am being beaten in the ring, when the fans show their support it gives me the strength to fight on, and I just want to take this opportunity to thank the fans who will no doubt be out in full force on Sunday showing their amazing support as usual.
3. What would winning the Belt back this Sunday mean to you?
It would mean the world to me, that belt signifies who is the top talent in the company, a belt that is only held by the best competitors in the British Isles.
4. What are your views on this Sundays move to a bigger venue and bringing in Drew Galloway ?
It shows how far PWU have come, I made my debut this time last year in the Malone Rugby club in front of less than 100 people, now here we are one year on and doing a show in a venue almost 10 times as big. The addition of Drew Galloway shows how big PWU has become, Drew is one of the UKs most successful wrestlers and it is an honour to be performing on the same show as him. I know the fans are very excited to watch him compete as am I.
5. What’s next for you after Sunday?
Defending my All Ulster Championship which I will be getting back on Sunday. Also continuing to do what I do best and thats entertain the thousands of PWU fans from all over the country who come to support me.
