To be perfectly honest, there aren’t a whole lot of things that you can do in Belfast when it’s blowing a gale or lashing outside, and if you don’t feel like sitting in the cinema with the kids or trekking through a shopping centre all day, you’re pretty much out of options. Luckily Lost City Adventure Golf has arrived to help you pass a rainy afternoon in style!

Basically mini golf on steroids, Lost City Adventure Golf features two rainforest adventure themed mini golf courses, one on a lower level and one on a mezzanine, meaning that once you’ve done one course, you can move on to the next one, or even save it for another day.

Located upstairs in the Cityside Retail and Leisure Park (beside the cinema, where Flicks used to be), the impact of this place hits you as soon as you go up the escalator. The outside walls of the building are clad to look like old bricks and the logo looks like something that has just been uncovered by archeologists. The anticipation that this builds is amazing, and you know already that it’s going to be a lot of fun before you even go through the doors.

Once inside, the darkness descends on you (my only criticism is that the low lights made it quite hard to see when golfing) and you are greeted by a big statue that doubles as a fountain, complete with fire effects and smoke. The theatre of the place is great, some serious money has gone into making this an American style attraction, and even if you went in hating golf, you would still happily be able to pass an hour just looking at the decor.

Open Monday – Sunday from 10am – 10pm, you can choose to just do 18 holes for £7.50, or 36 holes for £12.50, however kids and family prices are also available to make things a little more affordable for families. We chose to do the Sunken Skull Ridge course which was upstairs, and spent a good hour battling it out, leaving Explorer Falls for another day. Normal mini golf rules apply, and thanks to the animatronics and theatrics involved you definitely won’t be bored; plus there’s even a cafe for a post or pre game snack.

Perfect for a day out with the kids, team building with colleagues, or just an afternoon with your mates, Lost City Adventure Golf is a great addition to the Cityside area, and we can’t wait to go back and give it another go.  All the information that you could possibly need can be found on the Lost City website here
