As a sometime member of the Banterflix crew, I can tell you that these guys know their films. They also know how to have a good time. So I’d advise you to get down to this event, grab a beer and a slice of pizza and enjoy a classic!
COME and join the BanterFlix team for some beer and pizza as we present a series of special film screenings at the Belfast Film Festival’s Beanbag Cinema. Over the next four months, we’ll be screening a series of cult classics.
Jackie Chan stars as Wong Fei-hong, a young man sent to learn Drunken Fist kung-fu, who returns to save his father from an assassin who was hired by a powerful landowner. Drunken Master is quintessential cult viewing; a film that helped forge a new sub-genre of the action movie with its mix of comedy and action that’s still alive today. In his early career, Chan had been typecast as a new Bruce Lee, but performances in films like Fearless Hyena and the Drunken Master showcased the actor’s own style and solidified him as a Kung Fu icon on his own right.
When: Friday 24th June 2016, Doors 7.30pm (Screening starts 8pm)
Where: Belfast Film Festival’s Beanbag Cinema
