Prepare for carnage: flesh being stripped from bone, faces and hands covered in gristle and reputations on the line as the best of Belfast come head to head in a battle, the likes of which we’ve never seen before at 6.30pm on the 26th May.

One of the fastest rising food types in recent years has undoubtedly been the humble chicken wing… buffalo or barbecue, you just can’t beat the great taste, crunchy skin and hands-on rustic-ness that comes with those tiny little morsels.

In terms of wings, Belfast seems to be holding its own, with The Hudson, Hotplate Noshery and Ryans quickly becoming legendary for their delicious poultry limbs (that doesn’t sound too appealing actually, does it?), but have you ever wondered, who actually does the BEST wings in Belfast?

Soon, you’ll have your answer. The folks over at Yelp are organising Belfast’s First Ever Yelp ‘Wing Off’ hosted by The Hotplate Noshery and you are invited along for the ride.

You may have seen a few big claims floating around on social networks; everyone claims to have the best Chicken Wings in town but now it’s time to cut the talk and announce Belfast’s First Ever Yelp ‘Wing Off’, hosted by The Hotplate Noshery and judged by YOU, the Yelpers!

Yelp are giving 30 lucky people the chance to judge the contest and eat the best wings in the city – all you’ve got to do is sign up to Yelp and RSVP for the event. Yelp Belfast will then pick 30 people from the HUGE list to judge the contest. You’ll get FREE entry, FREE WINGS, promo items and best of all a say in who is crowned the champion!

So far there are 10 restaurants who are up for the challenge with more to follow – here are a few of the brave contenders:

The Hotplate Noshery

Rocket and Relish

Big Al’s

Harley’s

The Birdcage

Bubbacue
