Netflix made a comeback last week can it keep it up? Check out our streaming picks this week to see who’s the better man or um… Newt or Anteater. Some popular original shows are back along with some great movies to choose from. First up, Netflix.
Netflix
Bojack Horseman Season 3 – Bojack Horseman has really come into it’s own after getting those first few episodes out of the way and now into it’s third series its better than ever. It’s the best show about an anthropomorphic horse that your not watching. Featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Aaron Paul, Alison Brie, Stanley Tucci, J.K. Simmons and Lisa Kudrow.
Meet the most beloved sitcom horse of the ’90s – 20 years later. BoJack Horseman was the star of the hit TV show “Horsin’ Around,” but today he’s washed up, living in Hollywood, complaining about everything, and wearing colorful sweaters.
Hard Eight – Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie nights, there will be blood) this has quite the cast which includes Sam Jackson, Phillip Seymore Hoffman, John C. Reilly and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Professional gambler Sydney teaches John the tricks of the trade. John does well until he falls for cocktail waitress Clementine.

The Man in the High Castle Season 2 – The Philip K. Dick Adaptation gets a second season. This has been on my watch list and it looks like it’s about time I got stuck in.
A glimpse into an alternate history of North America. What life after WWII may have been like if the Nazis had won the war.
The Island – Starring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson this is classic Michael Bay stuff (before the CGI Transformers took over) with more than a hint of Logan’s Run. Highly recommended.
Lincoln Six Echo is just like everyone else – he’s waiting to go to the Island, the only place left in the world to actually live a life. Thousands of people stay at a facility waiting to go to the Island. It all sounds like paradise, but Lincoln Six Echo soon discovers that there’s actually a sinister purpose going on at that facility and that he must escape – but not before stopping the sinister plan.
Superman The Movie – Classic superhero stuff. In tights. That’s right, before the MCU they saved the world in tights…. and capes with a big ol’ smile on their faces.
Just before the destruction of the planet Krypton, scientist Jor-El (Marlon Brando) sends his infant son Kal-El on a spaceship to Earth. Raised by kindly farmers Jonathan (Glenn Ford) and Martha Kent (Phyllis Thaxter), young Clark (Christopher Reeve) discovers the source of his superhuman powers and moves to Metropolis to fight evil. As Superman, he battles the villainous Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman), while, as novice reporter Clark Kent, he attempts to woo co-worker Lois Lane (Margot Kidder).
Streaming Pick of the Week
Amazon – The Last Witch Hunter
Amazon has a great selection out this week including Oculus, Contact, National Lampoon’s Vacation and Tango and Cash that didn’t even make the list! This week’s pick though is Vin Diesel’s the Last Witch Hunter. After a win last week, Netflix is back on the mat.
The modern world holds many secrets, the most astounding being that witches still live among us. Centuries ago, Kaulder (Vin Diesel) managed to slay the all-powerful Witch Queen, decimating her followers in the process. Before her death, she cursed the valiant warrior with her own immortality, separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Her resurrection now threatens the survival of the human race as Kaulder, the only one of his kind remaining, faces her vengeful wrath.
