This week we have plenty of trailers and we all know that’s the best bit of this, right? We got your X-Men, your Independence Day, your Bourne and your Magnificent Seven. We also got Spidey news, Sherlock Holmes news and some new Netflix Adam Sandler movie.
X-Men Apocalypse
The 3rd and final trailer for X-Men Apocalypse has finally dropped and it features a little surprise at the end. The movie is due out May 18th and so far it looks very promising. Check out the trailer below.
Independence Day: Resurgence
Goldblum is back with a whole bunch of aliens and everybody’s kids. I love Jeff Goldblum, I’d watch anything with him in it. As a bonus, this actually looks like a lot of fun. Bad guys really do love blowing up cities don’t they. I’m surprised there’s ever anyone left to be in the sequels.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
I’ll cut to the chase. Robert Downey Jr will be dropping by in some capacity in the new Spider-Man movie. That’s it. That’s all the news we have on Spidey. Oh we also have some more footage of Spidey in action in the Captain America movie. Will that do?
Sherlock Holmes 3
Guy Ritchie has made some pretty spiffing big screen Sherlock Holmes adaptations and I’m pleased to say that it looks like we’re finally going to be getting a third one. Robert Downey Jr has been speaking to Shortlist about it.
“We’re talking about it right now. I can’t wait. I know Guy Ritchie loves me as much as I love him – and he damn well should. When we’re making those Sherlock movies it is off the hook. We’ll attempt to make one this year. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I’m tired all the time, but I’m excited about it”.
Jason Bourne
If you like Matt Damon beating people up and chasing after shadowy figures to reveal shocking truths about his past as well as uncovering diabolical C.I.A. conspiracies then you’ll be pleased to know that the trailer for the new Bourne film is here. I don’t know why they never went with a snappy puntastic title for any of these films. So many missed opportunities. Bourne Again ( Bourne comes back to life and finds himself working for the government against his will, maybe at the DMV), Borne on the 4th of July (released on Independence Day of course, Borne would have to help Jeff Goldblum fight off Alien hordes that have been turned into government agents against their will), Bourne Free ( Matt Damon has to fight his way through the African plains to stop Lions being used as government agents against their will). The possibilities are endless.
Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates
Here’s the red band trailer for a zany new comedy picture starring Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick, Adam Devine and Aubrey Plaza. I like those last two folks better than the first two folks.
The Magnificent Seven
Last week we had a few picks of the film but this week we’ve got a full blown trailer. There’s cowboys and horses and guns and everything! It even has ‘The Kingpin’ playing Steve McQueen!

The Girl on the Train
Emily Blunt, Luke Evans, Rebecca Ferguson, Edgar Ramirez, Allison Janney and Haley Bennett star in this adaptation of Paula Hawkin’s book. To be honest, i’d never heard of it before but after watching the first half of the trailer it looks like it might be pretty good. It has kind of a gone girl feel about it. I stopped after the first half as it had done it’s job and to be honest the less you know about these kinds of films the better. The Girl on the Train is out this October.

The Do-Over
The second of six upcoming Adam Sandler movies coming exclusively to Netflix this one hasn’t actually been written by Sandler. From the looks of the trailer, it might actually be half decent. I have a certain amount of time for David Spade, not a lot of time but a certain amount of time. If this thing clocks in around 90 minutes I might actually watch the thing.
