Octogeek – January 6th – Stuff

He’s back and with more arms than ever! Actually that’s not true, he’s just got the regular 8. One for each member of the Hateful 8. Which is out at the end of the week incidentally. Until then we have a new Deadpool trailer, some pics from Doctor Strange and Assassins Creed as well as other stuff. If you like stuff you’ve come to the right place.

Deadpool

Not long now until we get to see a proper version of fan favorite, Deadpool on the screen. The film is due out next month and we have another red band trailer to celebrate. Red band trailers are the ones with the naughty words in them so it’s NSFW unless your job is making red band trailers. In that case making green band trailers is NSFW.

Assassins Creed

It’s been fairly quiet on the Assassins Creed front but we now have some pictures of Fassbender in action and I don’t mean that dude from Making a Murderer.

Doctor Strange

With Doctor Strange out November of this year, there’s not an awful lot of time left to finish filming and start the promotion machine. For now though we finally have our first proper look at Benny in the Sorcerer Supreme’s costume along with some concept art.

We knew Mads Mikkelsen was going to star but we didn’t know if he’d be on the side of good or bad. Actually we all knew he’d be a villain, just look at him, it just hadn’t been confirmed until now.

“Mads’ character is a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect,” said Kevin Feige. “[He] believes that the Ancient One is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through.”

 

Daredevil

The first series of Daredevil on Netflix got some pretty good reviews and as such was renewed for a second. As we already know, this time around we’ll be seeing The Punisher’s brand of justice alongside Matt Murdock. Entertainment Weekly has been chatting to showrunner Doug Petrie about Frank Castle (AKA The Punisher) and his role in the show.

Viewers watching the show will be rooting for this guy with a gun but we’re also going to force people — the way we force Matt — to second-guess themselves. Taking lethal justice into your own hands in America in 2015 is tricky shit.

Thor: Ragnarok

Kevin Feige has been talking to Empire and has a few bits and pieces on Thor: Ragnarok which is due out 2017. We’ve hear little on Thor 3 save for the fact that Hulk will be stopping by at some point. Feige has now given us a hint as to what kind of film we’ll be getting.

I don’t think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie’s going to be. It’s going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk. […] The film takes place within the cosmos primarily which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.

So Hulk in space then? Could be interesting.
