It’s a week where we’ve got lots of sequel news, a scary clown and Star Wars stuff. We also have a nice little trailer for a homage to the 60’s Adam West Batman and a not so nice trailer for horror revamp Rings.

Ant-Man And The Wasp

ant-man luisAnt-Man And The Wasp is due out  July 2018, quite the while away but we have some information on a few returning characters. According to The Hollywood Reporter Michael Pena will be returning as Luis.  Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne will also return as well as Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym isn’t under contract for more Marvel movies (he seems like the only one who isn’t) but it’s expected that he may return for the sequel. Earlier this year we also heard that Sharon Stone would have some small part in it too. This would bring the Basic Instinct co-stars back together again so it kinda makes sense. Peyton Reed returns to the directing chair with the team of Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari, and Adam McKay on script duties. No Edgar Wright or Joe Cornish this time.

Rings

This re-imagining of the classic The Ring films will be here just in time for Halloween. It’s released 28th October so grab your best gal/guy and get ready to sit in a dark room with strangers screaming for an extended period of time.

Blade Runner 2

Blade-Runner-2-534x462The road to Blade Runner 2: Run Deckard, Run (possibly not it’s real name), has been a long one but we now have some names of some of the cast. We knew Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford are there but Variety have just broke the news that The Joker Jared Leto is joining the fun too. House Of Cards’ Robin Wright and Mackenzie Davis are there too along with Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) directing.

Thor: Ragnarok

This week Natalie Portman sort of confirmed that we’ve seen the last of Jane Foster. To be fair, I don’t think we need her as far as story goes. Speaking to The Wall street Journal about her turning up in Thor: Ragnarok she said “as far as I know, I’m done”.

Elsewhere in the land of Thor news we have some set pictures of Thor and Loki. Eagle eyed Eagle have spotted that the address on that card Thor is holding says 177A Bleecker St. Slash Film points out that this is the address of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum.

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders

Adam West and Burt Ward are back as Batman and Robin in a new animated film that keeps the style and world of sixties Batman alive. Julie Newmar will also provide the voice of Catwoman. This looks like a lot of fun.

Runaways

Fi-M-The-Runaways-Origins-720p30_480Gossip Girl creators Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz are bringing Marvel’s Runaways to television. More specifically, Online streaming service Hulu. Runaways is adapted from the comic by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona and is about a group of teens that discover their parents run an evil organisation called The Pride and band together to investigate such evil doings.

Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb says “We’ve known the Runaways story would make great television and being lucky enough to have Josh and Stephanie — who have time and again created shows that speak so genuinely to this exact audience — write and produce the series is nothing short of remarkable.”

All this sounds great but no one so far has mentioned the fact that the group contains ‘Old Lace, a genetically engineered dinosaur from the 87th century’. If he doesn’t make the TV cut I’m not in. Future Dino or GTFO.

Star Wars: Rogue One

It’s not much but it keeps the internet hype machine going for another week. Lucasfilm have released some info on the new planet of Jehda.

A small desert moon frosted by a permanent winter, Jedha is home to one of the first civilizations to explore the nature of the Force. At one time a world important to the Jedi Order, Jedha serves as a holy site for pilgrims from across the galaxy who seek spiritual guidance. Now, the Empire occupies Jedha, and a prolonged battle between Imperial forces and scattered Rebels carries on in the timeworn streets.
