A singer-songwriter from Maghera, Mid-Ulster, this week’s Tune for the Weekend comes courtesy of James Bradley. A father of four, James only decided to pursue music full-time last year and has played everything from bars and wedding venues, to corporate gigs.

With influences including Matchbox 20 and Counting Crows, his guitar playing style has been compared to James Taylor and Mumford and Sons, and this is his debut single I’m Through. An upbeat pop/rock song, this is a solid first track from an up and coming musician. With psychedelic undertones of Fleetwood Mac and The Jam, I’m Through is catchy, punchy and straight to the point.

A big advocate of both Autism and Suicide Awareness, James’ son Daniel, 7 is non-verbal autistic, and in 2014 and 2015 James staged a number of concerts called ‘Unplugged For Autism’ raising over £3000 for the Mid-Ulster Austim NI Branch. In 2005, James’ brother took his own life by suicide, and ever since James has also promoted suicide awareness and mental health awareness amongst the community.

If you like what you hear, James Bradley will be releasing his Better Place EP in The Market Inn, Draperstown on 17th August 2017. Or you can follow James on Facebook for more great music.
