Donal is a songwriter, singer, composer and arranger and has been a regular fixture on the NI scene for over 10 years. Performing with NI Soul Troop, Uncle Social, The Vibes and various other bands along the way, he has gathered recognition for his songs and live shows.
A frequent collaborator with other artists, he has been musical director for ponydance (Ponies Don’t Play Football & Pony Panto 2014), arranger for emerging Irish artists Ciaran Lavery, Malojian, and many more.
Primarily known for his song-writing that crosses many genres, from soul to folk, funk to punk, reggae to rock, jazz to country, with focus on lyrical content and vocal delivery combined with an ability to comfortably and capably blend styles together to form a unique sound of his own.
This is his most ambitious gig yet and also sees the launch of his debut solo album “Superpowers” accompanied by a 15-piece band of some of the country’s finest musicians including a string quartet, horn quartet, an army of backing singers and some very special guests …
