The Easter bank holiday weekend is almost upon us – the kids are off school, you’re probably off on Monday, you might even be off on Tuesday (if you’re lucky), so why not get out there and do something fun while the sun is still shining (hopefully). Here’s some family friendly activities for you to enjoy this weekend. (For those not so family friendly activities, here’s an article about Easter pub and off-licence opening hours which might suit you a bit better).
Spring into Easter Festival
Belfast City Hall
19th – 22nd AprilĀ
The Spring into Easter Festival sees Belfast’s city hall awash with free activities this bank holiday weekend. There will be storytelling, arts and crafts, drama, children’s workshops and even a special visit from CBBC’s Shaun the Sheep who will be hosting the Chamionsheeps Live on Easter Monday and Tuesday. It actually looks amazing, with loads of things to do from chocolate making, birds of prey and a big picnic with movies onĀ the big screen. Fun for all the family, and in a handy location if you’re just passing through and have some time to spare this weekend. For more info check out the programme here.
Easter Extravaganza
Belfast Zoo
18th – 22nd April
Belfast Zoo is hosting an Easter egg trail around the zoo and you can visit your favourite animals at feeding time. Here’s a list of the animals and their feeding times to make sure that you don’t miss out. The Belfast Zoo website suggests that you arrive early, as the zoo car park can be very busy by lunch time over Easter. Here’s some tips on how you can park and ride from various locations to help take the hassle out of the Easter break.
