Game of Thrones Studio Tour™ is the world’s first & only official studio tour, with authentic sets from the global hit television series. This unique experience is located at the series’ original filming location- Linen Mill Studios, Banbridge, N.I.
Your trip starts with a visit to The Boulevard in Banbridge and from here a complimentary bus takes you out to the actual studio where some of the hit show was filmed. This also gave us an excuse to have a look around The Boulevard and a coffee at Starbucks!
The moment you see the purpose-built entrance and have your ticket scanned you can tell that no expense seems to have been spared on the tour, with the tour costing a reported £40 million. After an exciting opening presentation, voiced by Missande herself Nathalie Emmanuel, you walk through the White Wall and straight into the exhibits starting with a chillingly realistic scene of White Walkers, snow costumes, and giants.
All facets of the production of the show, from conception to appearing on the screen are given their own section with attention to detail throughout. Some of the re-created sets that feature actual props from the show are particularly exciting.
You can have a walk through some familiar scenes in King’s Landing or down to the Dragonstone dungeons, before taking in the great hall and finishing off with an epic look at the Iron Throne in the aftermath of an attack from Drogon.

The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, being on hand to give info and tidbits about all the exhibits. Some of these exhibits need to be seen to be believed especially the life-size dragon skulls, and the interactive exhibits add a bit of fun to the tour as well as highlight the technological wizardry involved.
We took an hour and a half to go through, opting to not stop at the café halfway through. We also didn’t pay for the audio guides and with tickets costing £39.50 it was disappointing to not have this included in the price.
Having been to the last 2 GOT exhibitions that have been in NI (in W5 and TEC) I’d say 50% of this was stuff I’d seen before and 50% of it was new.
Much like the Harry Potter studio tour, I’d expect this to grow in time, but even as it stands it really is a must for any GOT fan and should prove a hit with tourists from around the world.
