Netflix has one in the bag this month but who’s get the win this week? We’ve got some Statham, some Johansson and some DiCaprio. We’ve got Michael Douglas in some mad costumes and we have Brie Larson trapped in a closet or something.

Parker – Daring, ruthless and meticulous, Parker (Jason Statham) is one of the most successful thieves in the business. But when his latest robbery turns deadly because of a careless crew member, he declines to join crime boss Melander (Michael Chiklis) and his gang for another heist. The crooks turn on Parker and leave him for dead. Parker survives and vows vengeance, tracing the gang to Palm Beach. There, he joins forces with an unlikely ally (Jennifer Lopez) to hijack the gang’s next big score.

Dusk til Dawn – Season 3 – In this supernatural crime series, Seth Gecko and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko, are wanted by the FBI and Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez after a bank robbery left several people, including policemen and Gonzalez’s mentor Texas Ranger Earl McGraw, dead. Heading for the Mexico border pursued by Gonzalez, the Geckos encounter former minister Jacob Fuller and his family, whom they take hostage by commandeering the Fullers’ RV. Drug lord Don Carlos reroutes them to a strip club populated by snake like people that all must fight for food to survive until dawn.

Room – Held captive for years in an enclosed space, a woman (Brie Larson) and her young son (Jacob Tremblay) finally gain their freedom, allowing the boy to experience the outside world for the first time.

Blood Diamond – As civil war rages through 1990s Sierra Leone, two men, a white South African mercenary (Leonardo DiCaprio) and a black Mende fisherman (Djimon Hounsou), become joined in a common quest to recover a rare gem that has the power to transform their lives. With the help of an American journalist (Jennifer Connelly), the men embark on a hazardous trek through rebel territory to achieve their goal.

Behind the Candelabra – World-famous pianist Liberace (Michael Douglas) takes much-younger Scott Thorson (Matt Damon) as a lover, but the relationship deteriorates when Liberace takes other bedmates and Thorson becomes addicted to drugs.

Netflix – Lucy

When a boyfriend tricks Lucy (Scarlett Johansson) into delivering a briefcase to a supposed business contact, the once-carefree student is abducted by thugs who intend to turn her into a drug mule. She is surgically implanted with a package containing a powerful chemical, but it leaks into her system, giving her superhuman abilities, including telekinesis and telepathy. With her former captors in pursuit, Lucy seeks out a neurologist (Morgan Freeman), who she hopes will be able to help her.

Another win for Netflix this month with Scarlett Johansson in Luc Besson’s Lucy. I’ve not been watching the Dusk till Dawn series but that image has me intrigued. It looks like some sort of Aztec vampire and that’s a mix that makes sense to me. Behind the Candelabra is a great film so I’d recommend you check that out too if you didn’t catch it when it was on Netflix a while back. Let’s see if amazon can get a win next week will we?
