Saturday 27th February 2016 saw an (almost) sold out crowd welcome the UK’s biggest wrestling promotion, Insane Championship Wrestling, to the famed Mandela Hall in Belfast for an 18+ show.  The main event saw local man “The Best of Belfast” Big Damo take on and beat ICW champ Chris Renfrew for the ICW world championship. A fight that spilled all over the arena before blowing the roof off as Big Damo won the championship! Luther Valentine suffered a loss to Wolfgang via some brass knucks, whilst Tron and Dunkan Disorderly took on Polo Promotions for the win.  “Iron Man” Joe coffee rolled up Kenny Williams for the 1,2,3 before another highlight of the night when ‘Big Kink’ Jack Jester took on Grado.  A deafening roar as Madonna’s sultry tones signalled the big mans arrival and shouts of “It’s Yersel” for the poster boy of ICW. Unfortunately, he was met with defeat but a great match was had by both.

Ex-WWE and current TNA star Drew Galloway defeated BT Gunn with a pin fall and far too much full frontal male nudity was on show as Kid Fite was defeated by Davey Boy. The penultimate match Noam Dar forced Sha Samuels into submission with a little help of Polo Promotions. The conclusion of course was the aforementioned Big Damo taking the championship in a battle that deserved it main event status.

At the start of the Show ICW told us this wasn’t a house show, this was a 3 hour Pay-Per-View and was to be of that quality. They didn’t lie, this show had it all, Big name stars, UK wide talent and a local boy made good. The only thing missing was some women’s wrestling, but maybe they’re leaving that for next time and after that show I’m sure ICW will be back. Until then you can always subscribe to their online service and check out the replay!
