Here’s this week’s top happenings in the world of entertainment and geekness. If it’s not here then it’s probably somewhere else. I get to pick what’s what so you don’t have to. Enjoy! As a bonus i’ll also be working the word rad into things to see if it suits me.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson come together for explosions and car chases and quickly edited gun play. I’m not really sure what’s going on in the trailer but I’m pretty sure they’ve included every stunt in the move here. I guess if I don’t get round to seeing it I’ll still be able to talk about it with those who have. “Hey Bro! Did you see that bit where he shot that thing and it exploded?” “Of course I did, it was in the trailer. It was rad.” The Hitman’s Bodyguard is out August 18th.
Spider-Man PS4
It seems like it’s been years since Marvel had a console game on the go never mind a decent one. All the movie tie in games were pretty mediocre and they stopped producing those after the first Captain America movie. Now Marvel and Insomniac have something new to show us that isn’t a candy crush knock off on the iphone. A new Spider-Man game and it looks pretty rad. Check out the trailer below, it looks like the Spidey games of old mixed with some of the mechanics from the Batman Arkham series.
The only snag for yours truly is that this is a PS4 exclusive. It won’t ever be coming to Xbox One or anything not controlled by Sony. It appears this may be something to do with Sony (who own the Spidey movie rights) letting Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel have allowed Sony the rights for a Spider-Man game and Sony ain’t sharing. SAD.
Black Panther
And lastly, here’s the Marvel trailer you’ve all been waiting for. Something we can all enjoy regardless of colour, creed and choice of games console. Word on the street is that after it’s cinematic release, Marvel will be releasing Black Panther onto a disc format that can be played on Xbox, Playstation and even Blu-Ray players! What a time to be alive. Rad times guys. RAD.
