There’s a good haul this week, we’ve a new image from the Power Rangers movie, News on Detective Pikachu and trailers for Transformers, Guardians, The Belko Experiment and The Mummy.

Detective Pikachu

I’m still wary about this one. I’ve been waiting for a live action Pokemon movie all my life and it befuddles me greatly that when we finally get one, it’s a.. um… detective movie. No young trainer, catching ’em all and battling team rocket/ gym leaders. We’re getting a crime busting pikachu instead. Anyway, we’ve just heard that Detective Pikachu has it’s director in Rob Letterman who did a decent enough job with the Goosebumps movie it would seem.

The Belko Experiment

James Gunn wrote this one while not on Guardians of the Galaxy duties, leaving Greg McGlean (Wolf Creek) to direct. I stopped watching half way through as I’m already sold. I’d also like to point out that Orion Pictures is back on the go. I always liked that little logo.

Power Rangers

Were you wondering what Alpha 5 was going to look like in the new Power Rangers movie? Well here he is, in all his UFO headed glory.

The Mummy

The Mummy franchise is back! And this time instead of having all that timeless Egyptian iconography that really sets the concept of a Mummy movie apart, we have Tom Cruise fighting a rag lady in Westminster. I will admit though, the first part of this trailer looks pretty awesome. It just seems wierd to me to make a film about a Mummy without going all out on the Ancient Egyptian stuff. I guess I’ll always have Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz for all of that.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

It’s here, our second look at GotGV2. It’s got a big monster with teeth in it and a little baby Groot. I’d also like to add that Bautista is killing it as Drax.

Transformers: The Last Knight

The best part of this trailer is Anthony Hopkins doing his West World voice over impression. After that I kinda lose interest.
