South Bank’s Spring production is a classic of 20th century theatre. Henrik Ibsen’s ‘A Doll’s House’ provoked huge controversy when it was first produced in 1879 for its apparently feminist message. It tells the story of Nora Helmer who has secretly borrowed a large amount of money to pay for her husband, Torvald, to recover from illness.
