Star Wars: The Force Awakens

A couple of TV spots have appeared in the past week showing us a little more than we saw in the trailer. They help flesh things out a bit and give more of a flavor of what we can expect from the film. They’re not long but worth a watch none the less.

Also this one.

Now You See Me 2

daniel radcliffeI never got round to seeing the first one but I definitely have a soft spot for Woody Harrelson. The powers that be saw fit to make a sequel and there’s plans for a third film too. They must be banking on this being the new Oceans 11. We have the synopsis for the aptly named Now You See Me 2 (the first one was called Now You See Me and this is the second one) and this time they are bringing Harry Potter along for the ride. I hear it’s ‘mind bending’.

THE FOUR HORSEMEN [Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan] return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe.

One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than WALTER MABRY [Daniel Radcliffe], a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet.

Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.

Why does THE FOUR HORSEMEN have to be capitalized? Do we have to shout it? Do we have to shout WALTER MABRY too? Maybe the trailer will clear things up.

David Brent: Life On The Road

david_brentI simultaneously knew this was happening as well as didn’t know this was happening. Maybe I put a mental block on it. For better or for worse Ricky Gervais is bringing David Brent kicking and screaming into the world of movies. Writing and directing Life on the road due out summer 2016. Here’s the first picture and a synopsis. Remember to shout the title real loud.

“Twelve years ago, David Brent (Ricky Gervais) was a regional manager for a mid-level paper merchants. In Summer 2016, get ready to see him on the big screen as he chases fame and fortune in LIFE ON THE ROAD.”

Now working as a rep selling cleaning (and ladies personal hygiene) products up and down the country, Brent hasn’t given up his dream of becoming a rock star – or more specifically, singer/songwriter for fledgling rock band “Foregone Conclusion.” As he assembles a group of mercenary session musicians, a talented sidekick for street cred and an overpriced yet underwhelmed tour manager, he embarks upon a self-financed UK tour coming to a venue near every major city near you.”

Agent Carter

agent-carter-season-2-posterI’m glad Agent Carter was renewed for a second series as I very much enjoyed watching Hayley Atwell kick ass in post WW2 New York. This time she’s moving on to pastures new, to Los Angeles the land of movie stars and nonsense. It’s due out in the states in January and hopefully we get it not long after although we had a criminally long 7 month wait for the first series. That’s not the best strategy when you’re complaining about everyone pirating TV shows. It’s been renewed for 10 episodes instead of the previous 8 and we finally have our first look at season 2 in this TV spot which also features the welcome return of Jarvis among the quips and butt kicking.
