Canadian Mike Kompon  joins the Giants forward line with the number #17 Jersey:

Kompon, from Thunder Bay, Ontario began his career at Miami University and was named in the NCAA Second All-Star team in 2002/03 as well as being awarded the NCAA ‘Athlete of the Year’ Award the following season. Mike then moved on to the UHL and ECHL with Quad City and the Reading Royals respectively – where he played with current Giant Kevin Saurette.

NI’s own Netminder Andrew Dickson returns for the 15th season and his 4th:

Dickson, 26, from Ballymoney, will play behind British Netminder of the Year, Stephen Murphy as the Giants defend their Elite League title. Dickson has fulfilled this role with the Giants full-time for the past three seasons, winning the Elite League Championship twice, in 2012 and last season when he had a stand out year, claiming his first professional win at the Odyssey Arena on 16th March against the Braehead Clan and followed up with an impressive second only days later against defending Elite League champions, the Nottingham Panthers.

Head of Hockey operations Steve Thornton spoke about Dickson’s return, “I am very pleased to have Andrew back. Dickson knows what I expect of him and I believe he will take full advantage of his role and continue to improve
