Hosted by the Cathedral Quarter Comedy Club, Luke McGibbon brings his comedic stylings to Belfast’s Black Box on Sunday 7th July for an evening of hilarity. As part of the season of Comedy Lab shows held throughout July this one is sure to be a blinder.

On paper, Luke McGibbon is a very good person. He is a support worker and counsellor. This is a show about therapy and being quite flawed and silly, but mostly it’s a loosely connected bunch of material and funny(!!!) jokes. It will be somewhat vulnerable.

Comedically, Luke has supported such Luminaries as Kevin McAleer, Rich hall and Jason Byrne, and was tour support for Micky Bartlett years ago (so long ago that it’s kind of embarrassing Luke still uses it to sell tickets). This is his second solo show, and he is putting on his least stained pair of trousers to perform it.

“Great set” – Jason Byrne (he’d arrived an hour late and missed the set)

“Conjured up little sympathy for his broken leg”- Gigging NI

“Charmingly naff… It is witty stuff and, at times, darkly knowing… Indeed, one of McGibbon’s main strengths is his drily articulate asides”- Culture NI

Support comes from Sarah Firby.

Luke McGibbon will be at the Green Room in the Black Box from 8pm on Sunday 7th July, tickets cost 5pm and are available here. For more information you can check out the event on Facebook here
