Having previously conquered and reviewed TIMESCAPE’s first escape room –  Titanic The Final Hour – we were very excited to get our bloody little hands on their newest challenge – a Jack The Ripper themed room.  The room was done to the same exemplary standards as the Titanic Room although a little less pristine due to the very nature of the theme. Bloody bedclothes, floors, writing on mirrors and the general grime of 1800’s London make for a less palatial experience.  The premise seems simple enough:

It’s 10:45am on November 9th, 1888.  You are the responding detectives to a crime scene at 13 Miller’s Court in London’s Whitechapel district.  You step inside the boarding room of Mary Kelly, the Ripper’s latest victim.  The scene is not for the faint of heart, you must stay focused in your search for clues and end the Ripper’s reign of terror.  Collect the clues and return to Scotland Yard to piece together the identity of England’s most notorious serial killer.  You only have 60 minutes before the Ripper flees London forever, depriving Great Britain of the truth…who is Jack the Ripper?

Emphasis on SEEMS simple enough! Whilst the theatrics and setting are every bit as good as Titanic, this one is a wee bit harder. It was very touch and go for us to make it, as we escaped with barely seconds to spare.  The same kind of comprehension and story were there as we had seen before.

I believe that that is TIMESCAPE’s strongest asset,  that you’re just not madly scrambling willy nilly – there is logic and an order to follow.  Of course, we had a few clues along the way, but even these were pitched very much in the middle, not telling us outright but pointing us in the correct direction and giving you and kick up the bum when needed.  So we’d definitely recommend you gird your loins, hoke out your deerstalker and have a go at finally piecing together who 1800s Londons most notorious madman really was!
