The first of Sean O’Casey’s Dublin plays, The Shadow of a Gunman is set during Ireland’s War of Independence. Ordinary civilians have been dragged into a vicious guerilla war of ambushes, raids and reprisals.

2. Horrible Histories

We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead! So it’s time to prepare yourselves for Horrible Histories live on stage. Using actors and 3D special effects, these two world premieres are guaranteed to thrill you and your children. Historical figures and events will come alive on stage and hover at your fingertips.

4. Christy Moore With Mairtin O’Connor Band

Máirtín O’Connor is one of the most respected and best loved musicians ever to emerge from Ireland. One of the main musical forces behind the now legendary Riverdance phenomenon, through his work with De Dannan, Midnight Well and Skylark and also as a solo artist, he has quite simply gone where no Irish accordion player had gone before.

5. Titanic Taster Tour – Art
6 June
Titanic Quarter

Draw your way around the Maritime Heritage of the Titanic Quarter with a fully tutored day of location drawing with local artist Julie Douglas. Stops include SS Nomadic, an exclusive opportunity to draw inside the former Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices and finishing in the famous Titanic Dock & Pump-House. The tour is followed by lunch, £30pp.

The Conamara based rock band will have their own D-Day in the Cultúrlann on Saturday 6 June. Rís launch their new album, Yahú, which is packed with foot-stomping original hits as Gaeilge. £10 per person.
