Situated at the start of the picturesque County Antrim coast road, the Bentra Grill serves as an unofficial clubhouse for the adjoining golf course, and is a steadfast family favourite for locals from the nearby towns of Whitehead and Islandmagee alike.

Bentra GrillInside you’ll find a spacious seating area, a fully stocked bar, a roaring fire and a bright conservatory (perfect for big family gatherings) that overlooks the stunning surroundings of the golf course itself, alongside the Jubilee Woods.

With an extensive menu (perhaps a bit too extensive at points, there are just so many choices!) that focuses on traditional comfort food rather than fancy dishes, there’s something for everyone here. Whether you’re into steak, a roast dinner, or something  a bit more adventurous, the portions are hearty and the staff are attentive.

For me, comfort food is a fully loaded chicken burger, and at the Bentra Grill that’s exactly what I got. Served with tobacco onions, BBQ sauce, and cheese, alongside a bowl of garlic chips and a choice of dip, the Southern Chicken Fillet Burger is a mountain of real chicken breast coated in golden breadcrumbs; the perfect antidote to the blustery weather outside.

Boasting fresh seafood from Ewing’s of Belfast, locally supplied meat and the freshest of produce, you know you’re getting good quality food, and with a full Sunday Menu, alongside a reasonable lunch menu, you’re getting good value for money too.

If you’re looking for show-stopping food, this might not be the place for you, but for a hearty meal after a round of golf or a quick bite to eat with the whole family, the Bentra Grill more than does the job.

Open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, why not pop in and try it for yourself.
