The PSNI have issued the following statement about disruptions to traffic and travelling around the city during the royal visit. Details of her visit to St. Georges Market can be found here

During the forthcoming Royal visit to Belfast on the Tuesday 24th June 2014, traffic may be subject to delays, in various parts of the city from early morning until approximately 3pm.

Police would advise anyone planning to visit the Mater Hospital, Belfast on Tuesday 24th June to allow extra time for their journey.

1. PSNI traffic control measures, cones and barriers will be put in place on the Crumlin Road on the evening of Monday 23rd June. These measures will extend from Crumlin Road/ Agnes Street to the slip roads on Clifton Street.

2. Security Checks will be in place on the Crumlin Road from early morning until 12 noon on Tuesday 24th June.

3. There will be no access to the Mater Hospital for private vehicles and taxis from the Clifton Park Avenue/ Agnes Street direction from 9.30am-12 noon on Tuesday 24th June. Emergency vehicles, Trust Transport vehicles, persons requiring hospital treatment or who have genuine business at the hospital will continue to have access where possible during this time from the Carlisle Circus direction. Pedestrian access will be facilitated via the foot paths that run in front of the Mater Hospital.

4. Normal business will be maintained as far as possible on the Mater site but traffic diversions will be in place so please allow additional time for your journey.

5. There will be a security presence at all access gates to the Mater Hospital. Staff and members of the public may be asked to show identification on entering the site. Vehicles will be subject to security checks.

6. Patients attending clinics in the Mater Hospital and Fairview will be facilitated as part of normal business. Again vehicles will be subject to security checks.

Traffic flows may also be restricted in the city centre as the Royal party visit a number of venues including Belfast City Hall. These traffic restrictions will be temporary. On-street parking and a number of car parks may also be affected.
