Octogeek has spent so long on land, engorging himself on pop culture that his tentacles have become all dry and crusty. His pupils are all wizened, and his beak all brittle. Off to the oceans with you Octogeek, off to the high seas with Captain Jack, Aquaman and a third oceanic movie character. Usher in Geek Munki. King of all the land based geekdom and decidedly easier to draw. Though not as refined as Octogeek he is more than capable and half the size.

‘What does all this mean for me?’ I hear you ask. Truth be told, not a lot. Lets begin shall we?

Lost in the frivolities my time away was Marvel’s first trailer for Captain Marvel. There’s lots of space stuff going on here and some snazzy green space suits. Lets hope they don’t veer towards the Green Lantern too much. Marvel seem to be able to handle the cosmic side of things though so we should be in good hands.

There’s nothing I love more than seeing John C Reilly and Will Ferrell together. This time they’re working under the guise of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. I’m not sure about the trailer though. It’s directed by Get Hard director Etan Cohen and as far as memory serves me, that wasn’t a memorable film (was Kevin Hart in it?). Lets hope the two of them can hold this thing together. If all the best jokes are in the trailer then it’ll a hard watch.

I’m sorry Octogeek isn’t here to see this trailer. He’d have loved it I’m sure. I have to say, Aquaman looks like quite the thing. Some sort of space age underwater madness. It looks great, i’m even onboard for all those CGI fish, neon submarines and battle sharks. Fish fingers crossed that DC can make this sweet nonsense work.
