Bray’s Katey Harvey went up against imposing Scottish grappler Viper, in a bout that helped provide a buffer between the Main Event and the Tournament’s climax. It was Harvey’s first time working Viper, but they gelled solidly and had the crowd’s attention throughout even if a few took the chance to catch their breath prior to the main course. Viper’s victory suggests a rematch could be on the cards.

Finally, a Four-way Elimination bout between Magico, the intentionally inept B-Cool, Phil Boyd, and Hamish Crawford was a messy collision of styles and personalities. All four worked hard though, and Cool’s antics did get over with the kids in particular. He stole consecutive pinfalls over Hamish and then Boyd, when both had fallen to finishing maneuvers. One-on-one with masked man Magico proved to be a step too far, and without distractions, he was soon dispatched via a Moonsault.

It’s not much of a stretch to say that PWU’s August 24 effort was probably their finest outing yet. A show that entertained throughout, it served up a couple of genuinely memorable moments, and a title match that surely ranks as one of the best company history. All involved also did an excellent job of ensuring that the event retained the company’s family-friendly aura, and provided plenty of invaluable audience interaction. Between the usual raffle, a well organised merchandise area, and the bonus of VIP tickets that enabled fans to meet a former WWE star, it was an event that the kids in particular will remember for a long time. Terry Thompson and Andi T will both be feeling rather proud today.

What really stood out however, was just how invested the audience are in the current PWU roster. Every regular member of talent is over with the crowd, from the kids cheering for white-meat babyface McKaigue, to the older fans who insist on sticking with controversial heel, JDP. If their growing audience continue to remain as absorbed into the story-lines and product, future PWU events will be just as engaging and rewarding.
