Well here we are at the end of season 5 of Game of Thrones. It seemed like only yesterday that the yearly wait was over and we were sitting down to watch the first episode of HBO’s controversial new season.

We here at Pastie Bap we know how difficult it is to keep track of everyone in Westeros especially with Game Of Throne’s episodic character hopping. So we’ve decided to help you out with a little cheat sheet to jog your memory on who’s doing what and where we last saw them.

This Monday evening you can sit down for the final episode of Thrones in nearly a year, clued in on the complicated goings on. You’ll know your Martells from your Meryn Trants.

PENTOS/MEEREEN

meereen

Varys
Last seen helping Tyrion escape to Pentos in a crate. Varys was keeping an eye on the Imp while they visited a brothel. Varys lost Tyrion there and that’s all we’ve seen of the spider.

Tyrion Lannister
The half man’s been on quite the journey. He’s the only character that’s been to Kings Landing, The Wall and Meereen, meeting characters from all over. This season he arrives in Pentos in a crate, is persuaded to seek out Daenerys and is promptly abducted by Jorah Mormont. Slavers then capture both and take them to the fighting pits of Meereen. To cut a long story short, Tyrion is now advisor of sorts to Daenerys. We last see him in the pits fighting for his life. The Queen got away on a dragon though so that’s good. Definitely no room on there for a little one, eh Danny?

Daenerys Targaryen
After deciding to marry Hizdahr zo Loraq and open the fighting pits everyone loves so much, Daenerys has some more trouble with the “Sons of the Harpy”. A sort of ‘Anonymous’ style mask wearing bunch of terrorists, they attack the crowds at the fighting pits. Hizdahr is killed (yay!). Jorah proves his loyalty by saving the queen. Drogo arrives in the nick of time, barbequing some masked fellows and whisks Daenerys to safety.

Jorah Mormont
Exiled by Daenerys last season, he captured Tyrion in a brothel with the idea of gifting him to the queen. Travelling through the ruins of old Valyria, they are attacked by stone men. Jorah contracts greyscale. They in turn are captured by slavers and Tyrion ends up by the side of the queen. Jorah is again exiled by the queen only to decide to fight for her in the fighting pits. The last we see of him he has just speared a ‘Son of the Harpy’ and saved the queen’s life. He’s still with Tyrion etc. in the pit fighting attackers.

Grey Worm
One of Daenerys Unsullied, we saw him fighting ‘Sons of the Harpy’ in the streets of Meereen. Ser Barristan Selmy was killed but Grey Worm just about survived. Currently incapacitated, healing in bed. He was last seen getting a cheeky kiss from Missandei.

DORNE

Dorne

Jaime Lannister
Commissioned by Cersei to return their daughter Myrcella from Dorne, Jaime decides its best to take some back up. Jamie calls Ser Bronn (Is that Robson or Jerome? I keep forgetting) of the Blackwater for help. They sneak into Dorne and after a few scuffles the pair are captured. Jaime is able to secure terms with Doran Martell, the ruler of Dorne. Myrcella and her husband to be will return to the capital.

Ser Bronn of the Blackwater
The only Knight of the Blackwater (should have Knighted Tyrion too) Bronn traded in his wife and castle for the chance to rescue Myrcella (does she need rescued?) for a nicer wife and castle. He was locked up in a cell in Dorne but was last seen released from prison with a hefty elbow in the face. Martell justice!

Doran Martell
Doran Martell is ruling prince of Dorne. The dude in the medieval wheelchair. His son Trystane is to marry Myrcella Lannister. His brother Oberyn( The Red Viper) was killed by Sandor Clegane (The Mountain) last season in Tyrion’s trial by combat. He was last seen this season being nice to Jaime and trying to stop a war breaking out.

The Sand Snakes
The Sand snakes are the daughters of Oberyn Martell. Theres 8 of them apparently. This season they have been trying to avenge Oberyn by starting a war with the Lannisters. You may remember some of them in the cells of Dorne, taunting Bronn. Ellaria Martell is the most notable and oldest sister. We last saw her getting a stern talking to by her uncle Doran. He doesn’t believe in third chances.

THE WALL

The Wall

Jon Snow
The man who knows nothing. A lot has happened to Jon this season so I’ll try and be as brief as possible. He’s offered the Stark name if he follows Stannis in his bid for the north but being the honorable man of the Night’s Watch that he is he declines. He’s nominated by Sam and then voted 998th Lord Commander. He uses his new authority to march into wildling territory and recruit as many as possible to help fight the white walkers. In return they will be allowed to settle south of the wall. They are attacked by white walkers and Jon escapes with a load of wildlings. We last see Jon returning back to the wall with his new army. Will the Crows and the free folk be able to work together?

Samwell Tarley
This season Sam hasn’t killed anymore white walkers. He’s been reading up on dragonglass and protecting Gilly from rapers (along with Ghost who I’d forgotten all about). He also put Jon’s name forward for Lord Commander. Last seen at The Wall.

Tormund Giantsbane
Just for reference this one. He’s the Ginger wildling dude that’s now on Jon’s side. He’s now at the Wall with Jon after rescuing a bunch of wildlings.

Stannis Baratheon
This season Stannis and his armies were camped out at The Wall for a bit before moving on. Stannis lent his fleet to Jon Snow so that Jon can rescue some wildlings. While at camp, the Boltons sneak 20 men in, set fire to the tents, destroy the food supplies and kill the horses. Stannis is taking something of heel turn as he is delving deeper into the darkness (light?) of Melisandre’s witchy ways. She convinces him that to get the Lord of Light back on his side he needs to sacrifice his daughter. He dutifully does the needful to obtain the Iron Throne. Shireen is burnt at the stake.

Davos Seaworth
It’s not a big season for the ‘Onion Knight’. He’s loyal to Stannis and advises him when needed. When Stannis knows he’ll have to kill his own daughter he sends Davos back to The Wall. I think we all know Davos wouldn’t stand and watch Shireen be burnt alive. Curiously though it does appear that he suspects something is up.

Melisandre
Chris De Brugh’s Lady in Red. She’s still manipulating Stannis and setting people on fire. That’s 2 pires she’s lit this season.

KINGS LANDING

Kings landing

Tommen Baratheon
Now that Joffery is dead Tommen is now the new and somewhat naïve king. Easily manipulated by both his new wife Margaery and his Mother Cersei. He is persuaded by his ma to let the religious leaders be in charge of policing the city. The last we see of him is when he watches as his wife is arrested by the Faith Militant under the orders of the High Sparrow. That backfired a bit didn’t it Tom?

Margaery Tyrell
Now married to Tommen rather than Joffery, she is queen and has been unwisely snubbing Cersei. I think we know that you don’t get as far as Cersei without having a few tricks up your sleeve. Last we see of Margaery she has been arrested by the Faith Militant after covering for her brother Loras’ homosexuality.

Olenna Tyrell
This feisty old woman is grandmother to Margaery and Loras. When Loras is locked up she accuses Littlefinger of helping Cersei bring Loras down. She tells Littlefinger that it’s not in his best interests for bad things to happen to the Tyrells. She basically says that if House Tyrell falls she’ll let everyone know of his involvement in Joffrey’s death. This leads to Baelish letting the High sparrow know about Cersei’s relationship with Lancel Lannister, ending with Cersei in jail. So don’t mess with Olenna or Littlefinger for that matter.

Cersei Lannister
After discovering that she’s maybe not as powerful as she once was. Cersei has had to make an alliance of sorts with the High Sparrow, leader of the Faith Militant and all round religious type. When Margaery disrespects her and starts to throw her weight around she needs put in her place. Cersei informs the Sparrow that Margaery’s brother Loras is a homosexual and the Faith Militant have him put on trial. When Margaery is called up to give evidence she lies for Loras and both are found guilty. With both Tyrells in jail you might think Cersei has won but thanks to Olenna pulling some strings Cersei is locked up for her incestuous relationship with Lancel.

Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish
Petyr is now Lord of the Vale after marrying Lysa Arryn and then dispatching her soon after. He was involved in the plot to kill Joffery and helped Sansa escape the city. After delivering Sansa to Winterfell to be married to Ramsay he is called back to the city to find his brothels destroyed by the Faith Militant.
He tells Cersei that Ramsay has married Sansa. Cersei sees this them breaking the pact Roose Bolton’s had with Tywin Lannister. Littlefinger offeres to send his Knights of the Vale to Winterfell to fight the Boltons. Reclaiming Winterfell for the Lannisters. In exchange, once Stannis and The Boltons are dead, he will be awarded the title Warden of the North. Pretty sneaky eh? We last see Littlefinger being blackmailed by Olanna to help out House Tyrell resulting in Cersei being imprisoned for incest. Gross.

High Sparrow
The dude in the robes who controls the Faith Militant. His goals seem to be to punish the unrighteous. He doesn’t seem to be after the throne so theres no placating him. Last seen locking up Cersei, Margery and Loras.
