It’s Christmas Eve Eve and we have the usual sack full of geek news and trailers. This week we have a bunch of Deadpool stuff, some of it with a festive twist. We have Batman v Superman, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Ghostbusters and Storks. Lets start though with that most rotund of creatures the Kung Fu Panda.

Kung Fu Panda 3

There comes a time in an actors career that they need a steady income to keep them going. They need something to take the pressure off finding the right role in the right film. They need to be able to retreat to the shadows a little bit. They need to be hired as a voice actor on a computer animated film that’s ripe for sequels. Mike Myers  and Eddie Murphy found it in Shrek, Ben Stiller and Chris Rock in Madagascar . Jack Black has found it in Kung Fu Panda. Here’s the trailer for Kung Fu Panda 3 which i’m sure is essential to really round off that trilogy. Now with added pandas.

Deadpool

Deadpool is back with a festive video and some posters for his movie next year. Seems we’ll be treated to a little Deadpool right up until Christmas. So far we have among other things a Home Alone style map of booby traps made by Deadpool as well as Deadpool’s own script notes. Check them out with some new posters below.

In case you didn’t realize, Deadpool’s not gonna be one for the kiddywinks. If you like the posters then you might want to check out the twitter which regularly posts fun bits and pieces and promos.

Batman v Superman

The promo train just won’t stop for this one as 3 new posters are released. I’m guessing Wonder Woman won’t be such a minor character considering she has her own poster where she’s doing her best to look sexy and ready for battle at the same time. Superman is giving us a mean look like we’ve been bad boys and girls and Robo-Batman, oblivious to all this looks like he’s ready to go into space.

Storks

When looking for ideas for kids films a popular route to go seems to be take something that’s part of our childhood and then turn it into a complicated production line like process, like it’s all controlled by a corporation. Christmas films are fond of this approach. Fred Claus had Kevin Spacey drop by Old Saint Nick to make sure his naughty and nice quotas where up to scratch and to make sure the workshop was meeting deadlines. Tim Allen’s The Santa Clause had something similar with a high tech approach to Christmas, Santa being only a legality rather than a jolly old man who lives forever. This time around it’s the ancient tradition of the stork bringing newborns into the world. Does anyone still tell their kids this? Anyway, instead of magic and angels and whatnot storks run some sort of baby factory, churning out babies on conveyor belts. The trailer’s pretty funny, the only issue i have with it is that the babies are way too cute. everyone knows that for the first 6 months of life we are all creepy little rat creatures squirming in cribs, barely opening our eyes.

Ghostbusters

Some new posters for the Ghostbusters, that nearly rhymes do I get points for that? They new images are character posters and look pretty good although I can’t help the feeling that Kristen Wiig got the short straw when it came to holding a cool prop.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Based on a true story Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, stars Tina Fey, Margot Robbie, Billy Bob Thornton and looks like it might be some fun. It even has a Missy Elliot song in the trailer so you know its all about the power of women kicking ass and stuff as well as you know, journalism and Afghanistan.
