Octo-Jack wishes you a happy Halloween and so do you with our latest offering of geekness. Jessica Jones, Power Rangers, Ant-Man, Suicide Squad pics and more! First up we Miss Jones.

Jessica Jones

Not long now until the next Marvel Netflix offering which is of course Jessica Jones. And after a few teasers that told us not an awful lot about the show other than the fact that Breaking Bad’s Krysten Ritter is the star, we now have a proper trailer. David Tennant will also be staring as ‘Purple Man’, he has a real name too but why use that when you can call yourself ‘Purple Man’? I’ll tell you why. His real name is Zebediah Kilgrave. Why use ‘Purple Man’ when you can use Zebidiah Kilgrave? This will be the first chance we get to see Luke Cage too (played by Mike Colter). All this is set in Daredevil’s Hell’s Kitchen with Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple popping in to say hello. The show drops on Netflix on November 20th but you can check out the trailer below now. Lucky ducks.

 Suicide Squad

leto_jokerEmpire Magazine has been to the set of Suicide Squad and has been chatting to Jared Leto about his Joker. There’s been a fair amount of coverage about how method Leto had gone for this role, sending Margot Robbie a live rat for some reason. In my opinion no one can out method Method Man. He’s so method bro, so method. According to Leto though,

“this was a unique opportunity and I couldn’t imagine doing it another way. It was fun playing those psychological games. But at the same time it was very painful, like giving birth out of my prick hole.”

Sounds…….unnecessary. The director added:

“there’s a power to [the Joker], and by some freaking miracle, through the incredible things Jared has done and the photography and all the other millions of things that went into it, we’ve cooked up something transcendent. He’s scary.”

Terrifying. Here’s some pictures that went along with the article. Nothing says scary like sweatpants and a cane.

Power Rangers

FILE - This publicity file photo provided by Saban Brands, shows a scene from the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" TV show. Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. said Tuesday, May 6, 2014, it was partnering with Haim Sabanís Saban Entertainment to produce a live-action feature film based on the spandex-wearing, martial arts superheroes who are usually called upon to save the world. "Power Rangers" have had a continuous presence on U.S. TV since 1993. (AP Photo/Saban Brands, file)

There’s a new Power Rangers reboot movie type thing and we can all hope that they’ll still move their arms about like they’re taking the world’s fastest ju-jitsu class, when talking to each other.

The film starts shooting next year ready for a January 2017 release and so far we’ve been given casting info on  of the rangers. All seem to be up and coming types with only Naomi Scott having done anything of note (she was in this year’s Matt Damon Mars Romp ‘The Martian’. Although the Blue Ranger was in Me And Earl And The Dying Girl .The cast currently looks like this. The Black Ranger will be Ludi Lin,  Dacre Montgomery will play the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler is ol’Bluey and the Pink Ranger will be played by Naomi Scott. God help them if they don’t bring back Alpha 5 played by Judi Dench. God help us all.

Ant-Man and Wasp

wasp-costume-picJust a quick update on this one. It seems that Peyton Reed is returning to direct the Ant-Man sequel. As you may recall there was some…unpleasantness during the latter stages of production on Ant-Man. Edgar Wright left the movie he had helped write and Payton Reed was hastily hired to step in last minute and try and make the thing work. Marvel obviously think he did a decent job because he’s back for part 2 and it’ll be interesting to see what he makes of it when he has full control. Well as much as Marvel care to give him anyway. As a side note, I reckon this could do with a better title. Ant-Man and Wasp is a bit of a mouthful no matter how small they can shrink to.

The Ridiculous 6

I have no idea what to make of this. The cast is insane. Sandler hasn’t made a good movie in forever. It’s a Netflix exclusive so it wont turn up in cinemas. If you have Netflix you wont need to directly pay Sandler any money if you watch it. Um…. here’s the trailer.

Netflix

There’s not a lot to choose from this week but the one thing that looks interesting is something that looks very interesting. So interesting in fact that I put the word very in italics. It’s Kung Fury and they synopsis reads like this.

A Miami detective imbued with ninja superpowers travels back in time to kill Adolf Hitler and the Nazis in an arcade game-style war.

Still need persuading? Here’s the trailer.

If you’re not watching that then I don’t know what you’re watching.
