It’s not even a week until Yelp Belfast’s highly anticipated One Day Wing Fest , and we’ve begun preparing our stomachs by trying out all of the restaurants involved to get you excited about what’s to come. We’ve tried Buskers, Vandal and Bubbacue, and now a fourth wingasseur has entered the ring, Carrickfergus’s The Swift.

Located on Carrickfergus Harbour, with picturesque views of Carrickfergus Castle, The Swift is a complex or bars, lounges and restaurants with a reputation for great craic and even better food. Without further ado, here is everything you need to know about their wings.

Summary: Described as ‘Hot Wings’, these crispy wings come battered and served with slithers of celery and a very, very mild blue cheese dip. There isn’t actually much spice to these wings at all, but there is a nice bit of warmth that resonates after you’ve eaten a few.

Flavour notes:  Slightly spicy, hints of buffalo, curry powder

Drink accompaniment: Strawberry Daiquiri

Portion size: 6

Price: £5.00

Wing Type: Full wing

Uniqueness: These wings will literally appeal to everyone. They aren’t too spicy, too sweet or too buffalo-y. As Goldilocks would say, “They’re just right”.

REMEMBER – If you’d like to go to the One Day Wing Fest then head over to Yelp’s official site and apply for free tickets!
